Position Summary
- Safely and efficiently performs needed repairs on equipment as assigned. Follows Company safety policies, including lockout/tagout/tryout, arc flash PPE/procedures, hot work, confined space and fall protection. Uses manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other resources to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Follows all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout/tryout, arc flash PPE and arc flash procedures, hot work, confined space and fall protection.
2. Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on production machinery, including electrical systems and mechanical equipment.
3. Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, including motors, drives, relays, PLC and associated control systems.
4. Performs basic mechanical functions, including changing arbors, edge roll cartridges, turksheads, flyer heads, clutches, payoff brakes, takeups, changing cam followers (hardeners), greases machines, fills hydraulics, uses shop equipment, repairs and maintains brazers, repairs and maintains portables, pull burners, clean spray jets, change annealer seals, repair choppers, changes rewinds spindles/arbors, troubleshoots and repairs conveyors and coilers, basic knowledge of solution systems and varnish systems, air compressors, cooling towers and other infrastructure. Changes applicators, drops and varnish system changes, repairs paper heads and payoff cages.
5. Perform weekly preventive maintenance task and properly document all tasks in the maintenance work order system.
6. Operates motorized equipment including forklifts, Genie boom and scissors lift.

Position Specifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and NFPA 70E, previous certification .
- Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical safety practices, including lockout/tagout/tryout, arc flash PPE requirements and procedures, hot work, confined space and fall protection.
- Troubleshooting of electrical and electronic equipment required.
- Reading and comprehension skills required; ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to adjust to changes in equipment and tools and modification to existing equipment.
- Ability to operate power equipment, including forklifts and pallet carts.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and electronic troubleshooting and repair in an industrial environment.
- Experience working with all common electrical voltages, including 24V, 120V, 240V and 480V electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes. Can perform all mechanical repairs.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on combustion gas systems, ensuring safe operating conditions.

- Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; bend at the waist; occasional stooping or kneeling; frequent use of a manual mop; use hands or fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with arms; talk and hear; Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasional moving, pushing and pulling and carrying heavy objects. including moving from pallet to cart and into cabinets; moderate manual moving of trash barrels and other items. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus; occasional driving of motorized equipment (fork lifts, floor scrubber, scissor lift, etc.); occasional working on ladders and platforms using fall protection equipment; moderate use of manlift or stairs up to 4 levels; occasion need to use a ladder to go into pits designated as confined spaces. Frequent use of acids, chemicals and solvents; occasional outside and roof work.
- Work Environment: Incumbent will occasionally be exposed to Cold Temperatures <55 degrees and Heat >100 degrees. The environment is well lit; the noise level is minimal but incumbent may be exposed to higher than 85 decibels on occasion.
