Design Manager - Infrastructure Projects\n\nLocation: Offices in & around London with regular site visits to Suffolk\n Rate: Up to £550 per day CIS\n Contract Type: Freelance / Contract\n Working Pattern: Hybrid\n\nOverview\n\nWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Design Manager to support the delivery of major infrastructure and civil engineering projects.\n\nThis role will involve leading and coordinating permanent works design activities, managing design interfaces, and ensuring technical compliance throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with project delivery, commercial, and construction teams to ensure efficient and compliant design solutions.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead and manage permanent works design activities across infrastructure projects\nCoordinate multidisciplinary design teams and subcontracted designers\nManage design assurance, technical approvals, and change control processes\nEnsure designs comply with relevant standards, client requirements, and CDM Regulations\nReview buildability, safety, and value engineering opportunities\nSupport BIM implementation and collaborative design processes\nWork alongside project and commercial teams on contractor design elements\nAttend regular site visits in Suffolk\n\nRequirements\n\nProven experience as a Design Manager within infrastructure, civil engineering, or construction projects\nStrong knowledge of UK design standards, CDM Regulations, and ISO 9001 processes\nExperience managing complex design interfaces and multidisciplinary teams\nUnderstanding of BIM and modern collaborative design methods\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nUp to £550 per day CIS\nLong-term infrastructure programme\nHybrid working arrangement\nMajor project exposure within a high-performing delivery environment\nOpportunity to work on complex and technically challenging schemesFor more information or to apply, please submit your CV today
