Position Overview:

Provide service for existing refractory business at major steel customers’ locations.  Assist in the maintenance of refractory systems and monitor inventory levels. Plan with both customers and internal support group all upcoming repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Monitor and assist in the maintenance of refractory systems.

·       Participate in tundish installations by tracking materials installed, monitoring tundish deskulling and preparing installation logs.

·       Maintain and to ensure the tundish spraying equipment is in good working condition.

·       Monitor refractory inventories.

·       Maintain all related equipment on site and used for the operation (in addition to the tundish equipment).

·       Actively follow and support established employee safety program.

·       Schedule and plan refractory maintenance outages.

·       Track refractory performance.

·       Monitor refractory performance and report to the team or customer.

·       Interact with customers to determine their immediate and long-term refractory requirements.

·       Schedule refractory delivery.

Knowledge/Experience/Skills Needed:

College degree preferred. Effective verbal communication skills, a proven ability to “multi-task”, and the ability to work and interact with others at different internal and external organizational levels. Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook is required. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, overtime and at times be responsive 24/7.
