International Field Service Engineer – Food Processing (Mechanical Bias)
Location: UK-based with extensive worldwide travel
Salary: £40,000 base | £65,000+ OTE (including overtime, bonuses, and allowances)

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to join a leading engineering company specialising in food processing and high-speed production equipment.
This position offers the chance to travel worldwide, working hands-on with advanced process machinery across a variety of customer sites.
You will be involved in installation, commissioning, training, maintenance, and service of sophisticated food processing equipment — combining strong mechanical skills with basic electrical knowledge and excellent customer interaction.
When not travelling, around 30% of your time will be spent in the UK preparing, testing, and planning equipment installations.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission, maintain, and service high-speed food processing and packaging machinery across UK and global sites.
Conduct on-site training for customer personnel on the operation and maintenance of equipment.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Support production testing, planning, and setup during UK-based periods.
Provide exceptional technical support and customer service.
Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and quality standards on site.
Represent the company professionally when liaising with customers and suppliers.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant industry (food, packaging, printing, paper, or similar process environment).
Strong mechanical engineering background, ideally with welding, fabrication, or fitting experience.
Basic electrical knowledge and ability to fault-find across control systems.
Proven experience working with capital equipment or high-speed automated machinery.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing environments.
Flexible and willing to undertake extensive worldwide travel.
Commercial awareness with strong influencing ability and customer focus.
Full UK driving licence
