Field Service Engineer – Gates, Barriers & Security Systems\n \nLocation: North London (ideally based within 20 miles of Hemel Hempstead)\nSalary: £35,000 basic + uncapped overtime + on-call allowance (OTE £45,000–£50,000+)\nTraining provided | Career growth | Hands-on, varied field work\n \n We’re working with a leading engineering firm that designs, installs, and maintains physical security systems across the UK. They're looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their growing team, supporting both installation and ongoing maintenance.\n This role is ideal for someone with a solid mechanical and electrical background who is happy working outdoors, occasionally in challenging environments (e.g. drilling, working in pits, getting dirty).
Plenty of weekend work and overtime is available, and full product training will be provided.\n Package and Benefits:\n\n£35,000 base salary\nOvertime at 1.3x after 40 hours on weekdays\nUncapped overtime and weekend work available\nOn-call rota with generous allowances\n22 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 25 after 2 years)\nCompany van (business use only), tools, PPE, mobile phone and uniform provided\nVaried, hands-on role with long-term progression opportunitiesField Services Engineer Responsibilities:\n\nInstall, service and repair physical security equipment such as gates, barriers, blockers and turnstiles\nAttend breakdowns and perform fault-finding and diagnostics\nTake part in a 1-in-5 (moving to 1-in-6) on-call rota, with an average of 3 callouts per week\nComplete electronic job sheets using a tablet or smartphone\nDeliver excellent customer service on site and communicate clearly with clients\nTravel across the South East and occasionally further afield, including overnight stays where requiredField Service Engineer Requirements:\n\nBased in North London – ideally within a 20-mile radius of Hemel Hempstead\nStrong mechanical skillset – hands-on background is essential\nElectrical knowledge is an advantage (e.g. 18th Edition, 3-phase, or 24v DC/AC systems)\nFull UK driving licence (preferably clean)\nPhysically fit and comfortable with manual work, outdoor environments, and confined spaces\nWilling to travel, stay away overnight when required, and work weekends when required\nAble to pass a safety-critical medical and face fit test (clean-shaven required for P3 mask)\nMust be British-born (due to site clearance requirements)\nMust have no criminal convictions (security clearance required)Interested?
