Role: Field Service Engineer\n\nSalary: £35,000 rising to £37,000\n\nHours: 38 per week (OT is available)\n\nLocation: Milton Keynes Based (Field Role)\n\nDuration: Permanent\n\nClient Summary:\nAn established and expanding engineering firm providing a variety of train components to the rolling stock industry.\n\nRole Summary:\nAs a Field Service Engineer, you will deliver on-site repair, maintenance, and upgrade services for a range of technical systems while ensuring exceptional customer support. You will diagnose and resolve faults, complete precise documentation, and provide training to customers to maximise equipment reliability and performance.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n* Deliver on-site repair, maintenance, overhaul, and upgrade services for core systems.\n* Diagnose and resolve technical faults, recommending and implementing corrective measures.\n* Conduct customer training and provide clear operational guidance on equipment and processes.\n* Complete mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical assembly work to required specifications.\n* Prepare accurate service documentation and reports, including work logs and checklists.\n* Process replacement and repair orders in coordination with internal teams.\n* Support the execution of service contracts and maintain up-to-date customer documentation.\n* Liaise effectively with engineering and internal teams to ensure technical accuracy and support.\n* Identify opportunities for process improvements and communicate training needs.\n\nRequirements:\n* Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)\n* Mechanical qualifications beneficial.\n* Be flexible to travel, work extended hours, and stay away from home when required.\n* Previous work experience with rolling stock vehicles (doors experience is a bonus)\n* Strong communication skills\n* Driver's License Required
