Coming out of the pandemic our on-trade sector has recovered well and showing year or year growth vs pre pandemic volumes, meaning our sales teams are busy and our portfolio is as popular as ever. With the expansion of our On-Trade Team we are now recruiting for a Field Sales Manager – South. Ideally placed around Bristol if in the East or around Hartford if in the West.
Role overview
This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your management skills in this highly visible role within our expanding sales team. As Southern area sales manager you will be responsible for managing a high performing team of 4-6 regional based sales managers. The team are tasked with winning, maintaining and developing business within the independent on trade drinks channel. Reporting to our On-Trade Controller, you will also personally manage a couple of key accounts and territory prospects.
Key responsibilities:
· You are ultimately responsible for the total P&L within the territories you manage
· Your role is to lead, manage and coach your team of RSM’s to deliver Global Brands targets and business excellence.
· Work with your team to help them deliver their P&L, distribution and administrative KPI’s
· Identify gaps and new business opportunities
· Recruit and retain our best people, aligning them with Global Brands values and ways of working
· Personally manage any postcodes for interim periods where a patch may be vacant
· Deliver growth through JBP’s
· Coach your sales team within the Global Brands way of working, developing their skill set and career aspirations
· Work with colleagues to unlock RTM contacts and drive RTM engagement in your territory
· Embrace a peer-to-peer coaching culture that enables you to learn from & coach colleagues in delivering greater efficiencies, effectiveness and growth for the business
· Ensure brand plans are relevant and appropriate through close liaison with Customer Marketing & Brand Marketing
· Ensure continuous forecasts of volume and P&L expectations in order to implement innovative and agile solutions to maximise the regional opportunity
The Person
Coming from a similar role within the drinks industry you will have a strong commercial track record with demonstrable results. Proven management skills will be essential as well as the ability to coach and mentor the team.
In-depth understanding of the drinks industry encompassing key players, market dynamics and regulatory landscape. A strong strategic mindset to identify long-term goals, devise effective business development strategies and make informed decisions that align with the company’s vision
