Field Service Instrumentation Technician - Expert
Calibrations & Controls is a rapidly expanding calibration service provider primarily operating in Minnesota and neighboring regions. As a Field Service Instrumentation Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering technical assistance, conducting installations, repairs, and instrument calibrations, all while providing support to our clients under the guidance of the Field Service Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Upon completion of the training phase, your role will involve traveling to customer sites throughout the state of Minnesota. Our main focus is on serving municipalities and industrial sectors. Your responsibilities will include providing service to our customers through the calibration, repair, and installation of various instruments, including but not limited to flow, pressure, pH, conductivity, and temperature devices.
- Review and comprehend written procedures, drawings, and test equipment manuals to ensure the completion of high-quality calibrations in a safe manner.
- Work with 4-20 mA loops, involving troubleshooting, calibration, and modifications to existing systems and loops.
- Record daily time sheets, calibration reports, and other essential documentation.
- Perform tasks both indoors and outdoors in diverse weather conditions, involving activities such as climbing ladders, stairways, vessels, towers, and pipe racks.
- Frequent on-the-road travel within a 1-hour driving distance, with occasional overnight stays for long-distance jobs within the state of Minnesota.
Basic Qualifications:
- Valid US Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years equivalent work experience related to Process/System Control and/or Instrumentation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in varied ambient temperatures and conditions, including extreme hot, cold, and wet conditions, as well as dusty and dry environments.
- Capability to climb ladders and stairs of various heights, including elevations of 100 ft. or more.
- Ability to hear and speak effectively, even in noisy environments.
- Capability to stoop, bend, reach, lift, and carry items between 20 and 55 lbs.
- Visual observation skills for assessing surroundings.
- Ability to walk and stand for 8 or more hours at a time.
- Comfort working in confined spaces.

- Competitive Pay and Benefits Package: Starting pay ranges from $80,000 to $110,000 per year, with increases post-training. Experienced and high-performing Instrument Technicians are eligible for the higher end of the pay range. Additional compensation opportunities with further training, knowledge, and skills.
- Normal work schedule: 5/8’s Monday through Friday.
