Estimator – Civil Engineering
Salary: From £50,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Warrington
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Work Location: 2 days from home, 3 days on site
About the Role:
As an Estimator, you’ll play a vital role in the pre-construction phase of our civil engineering projects. You’ll be responsible for analysing tender documents, preparing accurate cost estimates, and contributing to successful bid submissions.
This is a key position where attention to detail, industry expertise, and a proactive approach are essential. You’ll work collaboratively with the commercial and delivery teams to ensure a seamless handover from tender to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects.
* Review and assess tender documentation, drawings, and specifications.
* Identify risks and opportunities within the project scope.
* Collaborate with commercial, planning, and delivery teams to ensure consistency in pricing and methodology.
* Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings when required.
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
* Prepare bills of quantities (BoQs), pricing schedules, and supporting tender documentation.
* Support value engineering initiatives to ensure cost efficiency and innovation.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an Estimator within the civil engineering or infrastructure sectors.
* Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Causeway, Conquest, or equivalent).
* Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* Self-motivated with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
* Sound knowledge of infrastructure, drainage, earthworks, and highways projects.
Experience:
* Previous experience as a Health & Safety Officer: 3 years ().
Licences / Certifications ():
* CSCS Card
* Level 6 Health & Safety Qualification
* Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
