This respected building services and sustainability consultancy has seen consistent growth in recent years, thanks to repeat clients, quality project delivery, and a team of enthusiastic and driven people. Their culture is relaxed, creative, and quality focused, with a new flexible office space to support agile working. Projects are varied and often contain unusual or challenging elements. Projects include residential blocks and major master plans, workplace refurbishment, and major mixed-use developments, labs and pharma facilities. Now with a team of 45 engineers and consultants, they have identified significant growth opportunities in their sustainability team, creating a new leadership role today, with further roles planned for later this year. The sustainability team is being focused on three service lines: sustainability & wellness, energy & carbon, and planning and master plans. Your role will be to take a lead in sustainability and wellness, but skills in other areas will be welcome.
Your new role
As a Sustainability Consultant experienced in the areas of ESG and Net Zero Carbon, your primary responsibility will be to work with clients predominantly within the construction and real estate sectors to develop and implement strategies and roadmaps aimed at achieving net-zero carbon emissions and advancing their Environmental, Social, and Governance objectives. You will assess your clients’ current performance, identify opportunities for improvement, monitor and report on progress, and generally guide them towards sustainable and socially responsible practices. You will also lead this area of work in terms of project delivery, developing new opportunities, and winning new work. As an ESG & NZC Consultant, you will play a crucial role in guiding the construction industry towards more sustainable and responsible practices, helping clients achieve their net-zero carbon and ESG goals while contributing to a more socially responsible future.
What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications and Knowledge:
- • Relevant Bachelors or Master’s degree e.g. in Environmental Science, Geography or a sustainability related field.
- • Proven experience in ESG and NZC consulting and delivering strategies and road maps for clients.
- • Experience in carbon assessments and the use of tools for data analysis and reporting.
- • Strong knowledge of sustainable and low carbon building practices.
- • Familiarity with ESG and NZC reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI, GRESB, UKGBC, etc)
- • Understanding of regulatory and voluntary frameworks related to environmental and social responsibility.

- • Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
