The main function of this role is to manage the environmental and sustainability standards on site by ensuring all requirements have been met both for in house standards and for any standards required by our clients.In this role you will be responsible for leading and effectively managing the Environmental & Sustainability functions of the company by ensuring systems, processes and standards are developed, implemented and continuously improved.Why Apply with Sonas?Experts in Civils & Utilities RecruitmentProvide you insights to the best salaries, rates, benefits on offerWe will get your CV seen by the right hiring managersOne point of contact – we will manage all of your applications, interviews & contract negotiationsEarly access to other opportunities not yet posted on jobs boardsZero CostThe Role:Manage a robust Environmental Management System.Formulate and manage the development and implementation of KPI’s, policies, procedures and systems pertaining E&S systems.Develop relationships across the group with your colleagues so that company policies and requirements can be implemented into the day-to-day business.Ensure consistency of environmental standards across the company.Maintain and improve on the company’s ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications and identify any additional systems that would be of benefit to the company.Manage a programme of continuous improvement initiatives that delivers on organisational objectives.Your Responsibilities:Carry out site visits and inspection reports relating to the environmental and sustainability performance of the company.Liaise and effectively communicate with government and regulatory bodies (EPA, County Councils etc), to ensure good working relations and continued compliance and reporting.Submit reports and feedback for senior ShareRidge management meetings.Provide feedback and input for the submission of tenders when required.Document control for environmental topics related to on-going projects (waste, invasive species, etc).Preparing E&S tender submissions for the tender department.Educational/Professional Experience:Experience in a similar role.Experience in Civils & Utilities is desirable but not essential.Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent.Experience in data analysis, with knowledge of Lean / quality systems, understanding of specifications, data and defect analysis, variance reduction.Working knowledge of ISO and environmental regulations and legislation.
