Entry Level Systems Engineer I
- Title: Systems Engineer I
- Location: Elgin, IL
- Type: W2 only, 6-month contract
- Pay: $39/hour
Join a dynamic team where you’ll play a key role in evolving and optimizing system designs to meet changing business needs. In this role, you’ll enhance and modernize existing technologies, drive innovative solutions, and perform in-depth root cause analysis to identify and resolve design challenges in order to ensure systems are efficient, scalable, and built for the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate actively in system level design and requirements gathering.
- Provide customer support and test support throughout various phases of the project.
- Make changes to or upgrade existing system designs.
- Enhance and improve existing technologies for new solutions.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify system design issues and provide recommendations.
- Implement solutions to complex problems.
- Maintain system level knowledge of video technologies and standards.
- Utilize networking technologies such as TCP/IP and Ethernet.
- Apply system engineering and requirements management tools and techniques.
- Communicate effectively through strong writing, presentation, and other communication skills.
- Programming customer radio systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or a related role.
- Strong understanding of technologies and standards.
- Proficiency in networking, including TCP/IP and Ethernet.
- Proficiency with server and virtualization.
- Experience with system engineering and requirements management tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Skills:
- System level design and requirements management.
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in technologies and standards.
- Expertise in networking technologies (TCP/IP, Ethernet).
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- VMWARE or virtual machine skill.
- UNIX/Linux skills.
