Summary
The Engineering Technician supports the Engineering Team by reviewing, maintaining and releasing technical and manufacturing documents, supporting MRP maintenance, and ensuring configuration control for required processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in preparation of technical specifications.
- Ensures proper configuration management for multiple documentation sources as maintained by the controlled document change process.
- Serves as an MRP Administrator by entering and updating item masters, routings, and bills of material for raw materials and production parts.
- Reviews customer drawings and specifications for material requirements.
- Coordinates the use of internal web tools to run parallel to production documentation.
- Reports current progress of ongoing work to the production team.
- Maintains production databases in support of production functionality.
- Organizes prioritizes, manages and reports out on task and project progress.
Job Requirements
- High School education or equivalent. Associates Degree in a technical discipline, .
- Two (2) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and/or recent prior military experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
- Familiar with manufacturing and drafting practices.
- Experience with and/or experience with mechanical and electrical operation of test equipment.
- Prior experience reading and interpreting specs (blueprints, schematics, etc.).
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with Solidworks or other modeling software,
- Experience working with ERP and/or MRP systems, .
