Engineering Manager- Responsibilities Include
- Coordinate the complete refurbishment of pumps and engineering parts, guaranteeing that the disassembly, ongoing work, final inspection, and testing adhere to established procedures, specifications, drawings, and client requirements.
- Offer solutions for coating or mechanical repairs to fulfil client's repair needs.
- Provide guidance and technical support to the engineering staff, which may involve some hands-on work.
- Create proposals and price quotes for customers and keep them updated on the progress of the work.
- Support the Area Sales Managers during sales visits and contribute to the generation of direct sales leads. While the primary location for this role is our engineering facility in Leeds, there may be travel involved within the UK and potentially overseas for site surveys, if necessary.
- Collaborate closely with the works manager and shop supervisors to ensure that all work is conducted safely and in compliance with the company's health and safety regulations.
- Develop work plans and assign trained personnel to specific areas based on the customer's requirements and timeframe.
- Ensure that inspection reports are prepared when necessary and followed up on. Assist in maintaining the calibration and checking system for all inspection and testing equipment, ensuring it functions properly and adheres to established procedures.
- Create computer-aided design (CAD) drawings for various engineering, maintenance, and site items and components.
Engineering Manager- Knowledge, Skills And Experience Desired
- Possess strong communication skills and effective people management abilities.
- Demonstrate extensive technical expertise in pumps, including proficiency in interpreting drawings and utilising CAD software.
- Have hands-on experience working with various types of xentrifugal pumps from different manufacturers, such as HSC, volute, axial flow, and vacuum pumps.
- Exhibit practical engineering knowledge and technical experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Display a wide-ranging background in industrial engineering and some exposure to customer interactions and sales, preferably within the Power Generation, Petrochemical, Oil, or Water Industries.
