The Position:As the Engineering & Maintenance Cost Controller, you will be responsible for but not limited to maintain station budgets, managing projects, looking at estimated spend against actual costs.This role is based at the Loy Yang B Power station in Loy Yang and involves the following responsibilities:- Ensure efficient budget utilisation and cost control for all engineering and maintenance projects- Coordinate accurate budgets and forecasts promptly- Proactively manage cost tracking systems to minimise variance between actual and budgeted results- Implement project change and variation controls to handle changes in project costs effectively- Assist plant engineers by conducting detailed expenditure analysis of plant systems- Identify areas for reliability improvement in maintenance strategies based on cost analysis- Maintain comprehensive cost data (budget, commitments, payment schedule, expenditures, forecast) in the budgeting software- Ensure correct budget information is entered into the Maintenance Management System at the start of each financial year for projects, including accurate account codes and project descriptions- Collaborate with station personnel to prepare proposals- Conduct cost benefit analysis for the installation or modification of plant and equipmentAbout You:The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualities:- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills- Ability to multitask and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and be proficient in learning and using various software applications- Exceptional time management and attention to detail- Prior Power station experience preferred or experience in large heavy industry-Project management experience including budgeting, estimating, planning and financial control-Tertiary or trade qualification with equivalent professional / industrial experience, together with an in-depth knowledge of cost management and cost control practices is desirable.-Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position desirableIf you are looking for an opportunity to join a large well known respected employer in the Latrobe Valley and contribute to the success of a large power plant, then we encourage you to apply for this position.
