Electronics Design Manager\n Cambridge | 5 days on site\nUp to £85k + bonus, 12% pension, healthcare + more\n\n Are you a hands-on technical leader with a strong background in electronics design?\nDo you have experience with high volume manufacturing and working with international suppliers?\n\n We’re looking for someone to lead and develop a high-performing Electronics Design team, delivering advanced hardware platforms for cutting-edge conectivity products. This is an opportunity to combine technical leadership with full lifecycle ownership, working across multidisciplinary teams to bring complex products from concept through to high-volume manufacturing.\n\n The role:\n You will lead, mentor, and develop a team of electronics engineers, driving delivery of robust, high-quality, and cost-effective hardware solutions. As part of that you will take ownership of the electronics architecture and roadmap, oversee designs from concept through to production - including analogue, digital, and firmware elements. The working environment is highly collaborative across all departments - software, mechanical, optical, and production teams.
Together, you will define requirements, system architectures, and project milestones. \n\nThe ability to understand regulations/restrictions when designing and taking a product to market is essential, as you'll ensure designs meet quality, safety, and EMC standards, while supporting validation, qualification, and manufacturing readiness. You will also regularly work closely with suppliers and partners to optimise cost, reliability, and scalability, while embedding best practices in systems engineering, design for manufacture (DFM), and test (DFT).
\n\nYou must be a team player, and a manager who cares about their team and their own development goals. You will be at the centre of the teams continuous improvement, and drive innovation and creativity across the electronics function.\n\n What we’re looking for:\n\nProven experience leading electronics design teams in a complex engineering environment.\nStrong Analogue design skills including mixed signal (DAC/ADC), Sensor design, lownoise/ low-power amplifier/power design, HV drive of piezo/MEMS devices.\nExperience managing full product lifecycle from concept through to production and manufacturing.\nKnowledge of architecture definition, requirements capture, and systems engineering approaches.\nExperience with FPGA, DSP, embedded processors, and complex PCB design.\nStrong understanding of validation, testing, and compliance (EMC, safety, environmental).\nExperience working with external partners, suppliers, and outsourced design.\nExcellent communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.\nComfortable with international travel.Unfortunately sponsorship is not available for this role at this time.\n\n Keen to express your interest, or find out more?\n Option 1: Click the apply button (don’t worry, we’ll discuss your CV before submitting)\n Option 2: Drop me a message on LinkedIn (Rachel Bush – SoCode Recruitment)
