Electrical Simulation Engineer (f/m/d) for Electrolysis Plants About the Role Location Germany Bayern Erlangen Organization Transformation of Industry Business Unit Sustainable Energy Systems Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day The Electrical Simulation Engineer develops simulation models of our hydrogen production plants. In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring a compliant power supply system towards the grid and the hydrogen plant. With these toolkits, the Electrical Simulation Engineer supports the bid and project execution teams in the layout of customer plants as well as the internal R&D teams in the development of innovative hardware and control systems for future electrolyzer systems. How You’ll Make an Impact Preparing the simulation models with simulation tools (PSCAD, PSS/E and/or Matlab) and perform, the AC performance studies, load flow & stability studies, dynamic performance studies, sub-synchronous torsional interaction studies for Hydrogen Electrolyzer plants.Support control and protection design for electrolyzer plant.Support the team on rectifier design and preparing requirement specification of the filter equipment.Understanding and design of electrical power systems and controls.Support R&D activities at Siemens Energy TI SES.Ensuring the core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the businessWhat You BringM.Sc. / PhD or similar in the field of electrical engineering.Experience in Power Systems studies and modelling of electrical network.Experience of PSCAD, PSS/E and/or Matlab Simulink is preferred.Experience in simulation for control and protection is a plus.Competence in power electronics, high current rectifier, switchgear, transformer, and other electrical equipment is preferred.Knowledge on IEC/IEEE standards is highly preferred.Proven skills in using computers as a calculation tool.Knowledge of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy is a plus.Fluent in English, German is a plus.Great passion for the area of energy transition and decarbonization.High degree of flexibility and agility, with a self-directed work style characterized by initiative About the TeamThe Business Segment Sustainable Energy Systems (SE TI SES) develops, manufactures, and sells innovative Hydrogen and Power-to-X systems, solutions and services based on the SILYZER portfolio.
