About the opportunity:
We are the internal recruitment partner for our client, a well-established and innovative business at the forefront of environmental science measurement technology.
Due to continued growth, we are presenting an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Cambridge.
The successful Electrical Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing product support requirements, delegating work to technicians assigned to product support tasks.
This is a varied role which will see you manufacturing jigs, fixtures, and test equipment, monitoring budgets, as well as managing the customer repair's function.
You will maintain all documentation associated with the manufacturing process, ensuring full compliance with the Quality Management System.
Working collaboratively with Engineers and subcontractors, you will establish test, calibration and characterisation methods for sensors and instrument production in manufacturing.
Another key focus of this role will be continuous improvement, identifying more cost-effective paths and implementing new manufacturing processes.
Requirements
Who we are looking for:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Educated to degree level in electronics, MSc/MEng preferred.
- Proven experience in electronic product development, including PCB CAD, prototyping, board-level test, and debug.
- Experience of analogue circuit design and simulation to transistor level.
- Experience in digital and embedded systems design, ideally sensors, and electronic measurement and communications technologies.
- Understanding of scientific experiment creation, implementation, and documentation.
- Design for EMC, DFM and DFT.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes e.g. injection moulding.
- Experience in host and embedded programming ability in C/Assembler for any micro family preferred.
- Understanding of compliance and quality management systems (ISO9001).
- Basic project management and mechanical CAD skills preferred.
- Highly innovative and solutions focused with natural problem-solving skills.
- Adopt a hardworking and collaborative approach.
- Hold a driving license.

- A competitive salary of up to £48,400 per annum dependent on skills, knowledge, and experience.
- Working hours are Monday to Friday, 40-hours per week offering a flexi time system with core hours of 9:30am - 4pm.
- Annual leave entitlement of 33 days including bank holidays, increasing with length of service.
- Entry into the Group Personal Pension scheme upon successful completion of probation with employer contributions of 7%, also increasing with length of service.
