Sterling Engineering is looking for an Electrical Engineering Technician to join an innovative engineering team focused on integrating third-party hardware, software, and firmware into cutting-edge products. This is a great opportunity for individuals passionate about embedded systems, system interoperability, and product development.
Job Duties:

  • Integrate third-party hardware, software, and firmware into company products
  • Analyze electrical schematics and data communication protocols to ensure system interoperability
  • Validate subsystem compatibility and overall system performance
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to meet functionality and performance goals
  • Conduct system-level testing, validation, and troubleshooting
  • Interface with vendors to understand specifications and resolve integration issues
  • Document integration procedures, test outcomes, and technical findings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in systems integration or product development (strong entry-level candidates will be considered)
  • Solid understanding of embedded systems and protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN)
  • Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, and Internet Protocol-based systems
  • Experience with debugging and managing devices over IP networks
  • Skilled in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting datasheets and technical documentation
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of power electronics, sensors, or industrial control systems
  • Exposure to development tools or like Python, C/C++, or LabVIEW
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a product development lifecycle
