We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our clients dynamic team in Fort Worth, TX, and take control of their career potential. This role involves partnering with a multi-disciplinary team to develop innovative designs for electrical substations, contributing to the safe and reliable delivery of electricity across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Engineer within the substation team you will have the chance to engage in a variety of challenging and impactful tasks, including:

  1. Creative Problem-Solving:

    • Apply creative thinking to address complex challenges faced by the largest utilities in North America.
  2. Substation Physical Design:

    • Perform diverse aspects of substation physical design, encompassing yard layout plans, sections, details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of material.
  3. Protection and Control Design:

    • Undertake facets of substation protection and control design, including panel arrangements, one lines/single lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC schematics, equipment wiring, and relay panel wiring.
  4. Quality Review and Specification:

    • Conduct or oversee quality reviews of substation design elements.
    • Prepare equipment specifications.
  5. Construction Support:

    • Provide support to clients during the construction phase.
  6. Field Inspections and Compliance:

    • Perform field inspections and ensure compliance documentation.
  7. Leadership and Communication:

    • Lead a team of single- or multi-discipline professionals to ensure project success.
    • Present designs and proposals to clients, permitting authorities, public interest groups, etc.
    • Correspond and/or meet with clients, contractors, and vendors.
  8. Project Proposal and Leadership Advancement:

    • Participate in project proposal efforts.
    • Advance into leadership roles.

Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program

  • 3 years of electrical engineering experience, with a preference for consulting experience.

  • Successful completion (i.e., passing) FE or EIT preferred.

  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs, and other analysis programs.
