Electrical Design Engineer\nLocation: On-site – Cambridgeshire\nHours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm\nEmployment Type: Full-time | Permanent\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Instrumentation and Electrical Design engineer to join our engineering team.\nIn this hands-on role, you will support the design and production of electrical and instrumentation documentation, working closely with Control Engineers to develop high-quality drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.\nYou will be instrumental in producing P&IDs, control panel GAs, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, hook-up drawings, Boolean logic schematics, and more.\nKey Responsibilities\n * Interpret and analyse customer specifications and project documentation\n * Create and revise drawings using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical, including:\n * P&IDs\n * Wiring diagrams\n * Control panel GAs (Local and PLC panels)\n * Loop and hook-up drawings\n * Boolean logic diagrams\n * Assist Controls Engineers in developing Bills of Materials (BOMs)\n * Support workshop personnel with design clarifications and updates during production\n * Review and incorporate customer comments and mark-ups\n * Produce accurate as-built documentation\n * Conduct drawing checks for accuracy and compliance\n * Use MS Office and web-based systems to manage project files and communications\nAbout You\n * Qualification in Engineering (Electrical/Instrumentation ) or equivalent industry experience\n * Proven experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical\n * Demonstrated ability to produce accurate, comprehensive electrical and control system drawings\n * Experience with control panels, wiring layouts, and instrumentation design\n * P&ID creation experience is highly desirable\n * Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively\n * Self-motivated, assertive, and confident in your technical abilities\n * Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team\nAdditional Requirements\nMust hold a full, valid UK driving licence\nWilling to attend on-site workshops when required
