POSITION SUMMARY:
An Electrical & Controls Engineer is dedicated to the design, engineering, submission, implementation and support of electrical and control systems as they apply to all Arizon Companies products. An individual in this position should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a high technical engineering ability, specifically in DDC/PLC controls engineering and programming. A background in Engineering, PLC programming, mechanical aptitude, and great organization and visualization skills are needed.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Review technical specifications, project documents and plans to provide accurate material and labor cost estimates to the Sales Engineering (SE) Team.
- Develop electrical submittals supporting the Application Engineering (AE) Team.
- Develop and implement standard or custom HVAC control sequences in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations, Arizon Companies design standards, as well as customer requirements using structured text and function block programming.
- Develop documentation supporting standard and custom controls programs.
- Supervise outside control contractor progress, as needed. Assist in implementation of controls package on production floor and during factory witness testing, as needed.
- Travel may be required on large projects and/or occasional presentations. Travel is estimated at 1 week per quarter for customer visits and presentations, submittal review meetings, field visits, etc.
- Develop and maintain "positive productive" relationships with Factory Representatives, Engineers, Production Team and all other accounts and contacts.
- Manage and prioritize workload as customer defined deadlines are requested and adjusted daily. Target completion of each quote/submittal 1 day prior to request date of SE/AE.
- Assist in Development of estimating/sales tools to benefit all AE's as defined by supervisor. Provide any received vendor cost updates to Division Managers for update in Estimating Programs.
- Attend order entry or release to production conference call or meeting as defined by the assigned Application Engineer.
- Customer Service Support for parts and warranty parts orders and by owning inquiries related to unit operation and performance.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years' experience in HVAC, machine design or related industry "or" Minimum completion of 2 year post High School formal education preferably in a related technical field.
- General computer knowledge with emphasis in the following software applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Proficient in structured text and function block programming, and familiar with ladder logic diagrams.
- Familiarity with Carel controllers and their control ecosystem is a plus.
- Proficient in technical writing which is utilized in all forms of internal and external communication.
- Ability to communicate well verbally and visualize concepts.
- Ability to travel as needed both in the US and Internationally.
