We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Safety Director to lead our safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating, administering, and enforcing intensive training programs. As well as, accountable for the performance and results of the quality function and reports on key quality indicators and metrics. The Safety Director will work cross functionally and interact with many key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the integral entire workplace for our team members are in compliance with industry, state, federal and other company related safety guidelines or regulations.
- Establish, implement and document quality standards, procedures, and guidelines that comply with regulations, best practices , and stakeholders expectations.
- Lead in continuous improvement and innovation of all safety practices.
- Lead the safety initiatives, program development, organize ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, industry standards, company policies for the organization and all stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures and collaborate with all stakeholders to resolve the safety violations.
- Inspect equipment, machinery and job sites to inaugurate corrective action plans.
- Manage safety documentation and ensure all compliance paperwork is up-to-date.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork with all stakeholders within the organization.
- Delegate responsibilities to team members and enforce all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values.
- Provide leadership for the team by building and motivating team members to meet key performance indicators (KPI).
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, communicate safety updates, and manage expectations to ensure stakeholder satisfaction
- Additional duties as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, or applicable field or 10 or more years of relevant experience.
- Roofing and/or construction management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines and construction safety practices.
- OSHA certification.
- Proven experience in supervising field operations
- Proficiency in Google, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and project management software
- The ability to work in different environmental conditions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, leadership and communications skills
- Ability to coach and instruct all team members on safety regulations. High problem solving aptitude
- Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes
- Valid Driver's License
