Development Operations Manager
Salary Range: $83,600-$93,600
Your Impact
The Development Operations Manager plays a foundational role on Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco's Fund Development team. The Development Operations Manager, supports leadership, staff, and donors, and along with their Fund Development colleagues, supports securing over $7 million annually to support affordable homeownership.
The Development Operations Manager plays a leading role in all aspects of development database operations, portfolio management, activity tracking/reporting, reconciliations and reporting, gift entry, generating tax receipts and acknowledgments, creating reports, and supporting research on prospects and fundraising appeals.
Reporting to the Vice President of Philanthropy, this position supports Habitat GSF's efforts to ensure data accuracy, gift entry, timely acknowledgement of donations, and data informed fundraising strategies to maximize support from donors.
Primary Responsibilities
Data & Information Management (70%)
- Enter all donor-related data into Salesforce, primarily processing donations and ensuring accurate contact information and preferences on donor records.
- Produce timely, accurate acknowledgement letters for all relevant donations.
- Build and produce accurate dashboards and reports on donations, budget progress, activities, and donor contact information for mailing lists, emails, and other purposes.
- Manage portfolio organization and moves management within Salesforce and support gift officers in quarterly portfolio reviews.
- Complete wealth screening with timely tracking in Salesforce, supporting Fund Development colleagues in cultivating and stewarding donors in response to screening data.
- Pull donor lists for Direct Marketing campaigns and for various appeals and events throughout the year.
- Serve as the Development lead for monthly reconciliation of donations in partnership with Finance Department. Partner with Database Operations team to consistently provide suggestions for improvements to Salesforce database that will enable enhanced donor engagement and tracking, including dashboard and report creation, page layouts, and overall functionality for Development team.
- Develops and enforces development data entry guidelines to ensure data quality and consistency; provides support and training in use of the application, including for new staff and specialized training in response to changing roles, improvements in business processes and database functionality.
- Establishes, improves and maintains systems, policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of all biographical and financial data in the fundraising database, including standardized coding, processing, and reporting policies; evaluates and updates these policies as necessary to ensure best practices
- Serve as Fund Development's expert on other platforms such as Pardot, Greater Giving, Fundraise Up, and Click & Pledge.
- On occasion, receive and respond to requests from donors including collecting donation information, tax identification numbers, etc.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies.
Donor Services (25%)
- Partner with Fund Development colleagues to complete donor research and create donor prospecting briefs.
- Manages donor prospecting and participates in the enhancement of systems and protocols for prospect management by using various research tools such as iWave.
- In collaboration with gift officers, identifies potential major gift donors by using creative research and mining techniques, largely of HGSF's fundraising database, and electronic searching methodologies to ensure that org initiatives have sufficient prospects to meet fundraising goals.
- Support Fund Development donor events and prospects by attending events, helping with RSVP tracking, and logging gifts.
- Collaborate on donor stewardship activities, such as sending regular print touchpoints throughout the year.
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 2-5 years of experience on or with a fundraising team.
- Experience with a Donor CRM database, and willingness to learn donation processing and prospecting systems.
- proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Passion for and commitment to the Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco mission.
- Innovative, creative, strategic and analytical thinker.
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively.
- Must be able to pass background check.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and stand or bend as necessary. Must be able to travel within HGSF's service area

Compensation for this role is competitive, DOE.
