The Deck Construction Superintendent oversees and coordinates all construction activities by EPC/EPIC contractor(s) related to the fabrication, assembly, integration, and installation of deck structures and topside modules on offshore oil and gas facilities. This includes structural works, piping, mechanical equipment, E&I installations, and coordination with subcontractors to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence, tasked for. 

General Description of Role and Responsibilities [but not limited to]: 

Planning & Execution 

  • Supervise day-to-day construction activities by EPC/EPIC  of deck fabrication and outfitting in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and procedures. 
  • Review and consent the EPC/EPIC developed detailed execution plans, look-ahead schedules, and progress monitoring tools in coordination with planners and supervisors. 
  • Ensure effective coordination between civil, structural, piping, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and instrumentation teams during deck integration. 
  • Monitor and support equipment installation, piping spools, cable trays, and module integration on the deck. 

Quality & HSE 

  • Enforce strict compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and permit systems. 
  • Lead Toolbox Talks (TBT), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and site inspections. 
  • Ensure construction quality is maintained in line with ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), QCPs (Quality Control Plans), and industry standards. 
  • Support QA/QC during inspections, NCR closures, and punch listing. 

Interface & Coordination 

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams to resolve construction clashes and technical issues. 
  • Ensure proper interface between deck construction and jacket/facility integration scope. 
  • Liaise with subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives for alignment on site execution and progress reporting. 

Progress Monitoring & Reporting 

  • Track construction progress, manpower allocation, productivity, and performance. 
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports, highlighting milestones, constraints, and resource requirements to PMS construction manager. 
  • Assist in managing change orders, field design changes, and material shortages. 

Hook-Up & Installation (Offshore Phase) 

  • Support offshore pre-commissioning, hook-up, and mechanical completion of deck systems. 
  • Supervise offshore rework, system handover, and punch closeout activities. 

Skills & Competencies required 

  • Strong understanding of offshore topside structure, piping, HVAC, mechanical, and E&I systems. 
  • Proficient in reading construction drawings, isometrics, and 3D models. 
  • Leadership and coordination skills with multi-discipline and multicultural teams. 
  • Familiarity with construction standards (API, AWS, ASME, ISO) and project management systems. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills under schedule pressure. 

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited university. 
  • Work experience of eight (8) years in the sought discipline after earning the university degree. 
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of offshore experience in total, with at least the last 3-5 years spent on offshore projects. 
  • Excellent spoken and written English including proven ability to write reports.
