Job Title: Construction Supervisor (Civil)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in civil and infrastructure works related to:
- Roads and highways (mega projects)
- Cross-country pipelines in the oil & gas industry
Specialization in onshore major projects.
Conversant with local, , and international codes, standards, and specifications.
Computer literacy is an advantage.
Experienced in managing protection of live oil and gas pipelines as per approved design requirements.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse cultural environment.
Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
Self-starter with proven ability to drive accomplishments.
Excellent command of English (oral and written).
Knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety, and environmental regulations.
Strong supervisory, planning, and coordination skills.
Good communication and report-writing abilities.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor all civil-related activities at the project site, conduct regular inspections, and ensure compliance with:
- Approved Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
- Risk Assessments
- Method Statements
- Permit to Work (PTW) system
- Latest instructions and safety standards
Identify and implement risk reduction measures across all construction phases.
Review and verify work method statements, JHAs, safety certifications, and related documents submitted by consultants/contractors.
Take corrective actions in case of lapses or delays.
Supervise and coordinate with contractors to achieve project safety goals; recommend solutions and propose changes as needed.
Attend meetings with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to review site progress; analyze critical issues and provide prompt resolutions.
Perform field inspections, surveys, and propose administrative close-out precautions.
Ensure compliance with company safety regulations, project safety plans, and Qatar’s environmental regulations.
Investigate accidents and incidents; coordinate findings and corrective actions.
Provide technical guidance and assistance to contractors.
Act as the construction focal point for multi-disciplinary issues.
Interact with internal departments and contractors to resolve technical queries and coordinate work.
Prepare and update daily and weekly construction progress reports; verify contractors’ progress statements for accuracy.
Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve routine site issues and escalate technical queries to senior construction supervisors.
