Position Overview

The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of assigned NYC DDC project, from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring work is executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of DDC contract requirements, reporting procedures, and field operations, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination across all phases of construction.
  • Manage DDC-specific documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and submittals through HCSS HeavyJob, Sage 300, and related project systems.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal crews to maintain schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Conduct and lead progress meetings with DDC representatives, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with NYC DDC specifications, EBO goals, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Review design drawings, contract documents, and shop drawings for accuracy and constructability.
  • Prepare monthly requisitions, schedule updates, and financial forecasts in alignment with DDC requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with estimating, field operations, and accounting to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers and field engineers to strengthen project execution and accountability.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–10+ years of experience managing NYC DDC projects or similar large-scale public infrastructure work.
  • Deep understanding of DDC specifications, contract structure, and project documentation processes.
  • Proven success managing heavy civil, utility, and roadway construction projects in New York City.
  • Proficiency in HCSS HeavyJob, HeavyBid, Sage 300, Primavera, and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • OSHA 30 required; NYCDDC and NYSDOT experience highly .
