Job Description: Construction Manager

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and manage large-scale construction projects in partnership with Los Angeles County, Los Angeles Airport, the City of Long Beach, and the Port of Long Beach. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field (required), a Master's degree (), and a proven track record in managing multimillion-dollar construction projects. Experience in design and preconstruction planning is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management

o Oversee all phases of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

o Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

o Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet project goals.

2. Design and Preconstruction Planning

o Review and provide input on project designs to ensure feasibility, compliance, and alignment with client requirements.

o Collaborate with design teams to optimize functionality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of project plans.

o Evaluate and integrate innovative construction methods and technologies.

3. Budget and Cost Control

o Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and resources are allocated effectively.

o Negotiate contracts and manage procurement processes for materials and services.

4. Compliance and Safety

o Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local construction regulations.

o Promote a culture of safety by enforcing workplace safety policies and procedures.

5. Team Leadership

o Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and professional growth.

o Resolve conflicts and facilitate communication among all team members.

6. Stakeholder Engagement

o Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.

o Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, clients, and community stakeholders.



* Education:

o Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (required).

o Master's degree in a relevant discipline ().

* Experience:

o Minimum of 7 years of experience managing large-scale construction projects, particularly those exceeding $10 million in budget.

o Strong background in construction design, including preconstruction planning and analysis.

o Experience working on projects for public entities, including counties, airports, cities, or ports.

* Skills and Competencies:

o Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).

o Exceptional leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.

o Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry best practices.

o Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications:

* Familiarity with Los Angeles County, Los Angeles Airport, City of Long Beach, and Port of Long Beach construction protocols.

* Professional certifications such as PMP, LEED, or CCM are a plus.
