Job Summary

Performs tasks involving physical labor for construction sites. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, clean up rubble and debris, unloads and loads materials as instructed. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May assist other craft workers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare site, cleaning up the work area, clearing debris, digging trenches, remove, fill and compacting earth.
• Loading, unloading, and transporting materials, tools, and equipment manually or using company vehicles.
  
• Supporting skilled workers (like carpenters, heavy equipment operator, pipefitters and concrete and cement masons) with their tasks as needed.
• Operating light equipment like pallet jacks.
• Dig trenches, back-fill trenches, set forms, level out dirt of job sites
• Assembling and dismantling temporary structures like scaffolding and bracing
• Remove trees, shrubs, debris to prepare or clear out job sites.
• Cares for construction equipment and machines.
• Understand and follow directions.
  

Requirements

• Entry level position.
• General knowledge of construction industry.
• General knowledge of hand tools and construction equipment.
  Must be able to follow instructions and comply with our Safety rules and Procedures.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and/or oral instructions.
  
• Ability to work hard, positive attitude and get along well with team.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Must be work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements, heat/cold temperatures, wind, rain, blowing dust.
• Able to work around moving equipment and tolerate loud noise levels.
• Bend and stoop repeatedly throughout the day.
• Able to push, pull and lift 50+lbs.
• Able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Able to walk on rough, rocky and uneven surfaces at construction sites.

Additional Qualifying Factors
