Configuration Management Lead

Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement CM Processes: Develop and implement a comprehensive Configuration Management Plan (CMP) that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 10007, DoD standards).
- Establish and Maintain CM Databases: Establish and maintain configuration management databases (CMDBs) and repositories to track and control all configuration items (CIs).
- Configuration Identification: Define and implement configuration identification schemes, including naming conventions, part numbering, and version control.
- Configuration Control: Manage change control processes, including change requests, impact analysis, configuration control boards (CCBs), and implementation.
- Configuration Audits: Conduct regular configuration audits to ensure compliance with established CM processes and identify discrepancies.
- Configuration Status Accounting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date configuration status accounting reports to provide visibility into the current configuration of all CIs.
- Release Management: Manage the release process, including build management, packaging, and deployment of software and hardware.
- Data Management: Establish and maintain data management processes to ensure the integrity, security, and availability of test data.
- Documentation Control: Control the distribution, revision, and archiving of technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, procedures, and reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration management. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of configuration management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using configuration management tools and databases (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Git, Subversion, ClearCase, Helix Core).
- Experience with change control processes and configuration control boards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycles (SDLCs) and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience with data management and operational/cyber security principles.
- Working knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 10007, DoD standards).
- Active Secret security clearance desired or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance required.
- Normal work day 0700-1700, must be capable of traveling on commercial aircraft to event support location(s) with minimum 2 weeks’ notice.
- Work environment can be remote with travel to test event support locations required (approximately one 3-4 day trip/month).
- If remote, must have reliable broadband internet access
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in the defense aviation test and evaluation or aerospace industry .
- Experience with testing and evaluation environments highly desirable.
- CMII Certification (desired)
- ITIL Certification (desired)
Basic Compensation:
$125,000 to $145,000
This range is for the California area only
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
