Summary
Brightline is looking for a motivated, experienced, and dependable Commercial Maintenance Technician to assist with our growing portfolio of commercial properties. The Commercial Maintenance Technician helps to protect physical assets by conducting general maintenance repairs as well as preventative maintenance for our assigned commercial units in the Ann Arbor area. We seek the right person to join us as we continue to add value to real estate and make our community a better place to be in.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Complete necessary operating, maintenance, and repair tasks at commercial properties to assure maximum life and reliability of building systems. These include HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
- Perform other general building maintenance and grounds work as requested or as preventively scheduled.
- Maintain positive working relationships with tenants and respond to requests and issues in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
- Document maintenance and repair information electronically in accordance with established procedures.
- Comply with all fire/life/health/occupational safety procedures and standards.
- Collaborate with Leasing and Property Management teams.
- Utilize service issue software to establish priorities and set schedules.
- Serve as a dependable colleague on our commercial team, and alongside other key stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management including occasional work within our residential property division.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician
- Experience with commercial and/or industrial buildings with complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Experience with service tickets/work order software including phone apps is a plus
- Acute attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus
- Valid driver’s license

Full-time; occasional on-call work
