We are seeking an experienced Site Construction Estimator to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in all phases of site construction for public, commercial, and industrial projects. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop accurate cost estimates that support competitive and profitable bids.
Founded in 1976, our client has been constructing design‑build industrial and commercial buildings in the Tri‑State area for more than 40 years, earning a reputation for quality and reliability in the construction industry.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals for site construction projects
- Review project plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to determine scope and quantity takeoffs
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates align with project goals and constraints
- Analyze labor, materials, and equipment costs to identify efficiencies and value‑engineering opportunities
- Maintain accurate cost data and historical records for future pricing reference
- Attend pre‑bid meetings and site visits as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an estimator in site or civil construction
- Strong knowledge of earthwork, utilities, concrete, and paving for public works, commercial, and industrial projects
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, or equivalent)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, civil drawings, and specifications
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
