Location: Redhill, Surrey
Salary: £40,000-£50,000 per annum, plus bonus/OTE
Our client is a social housing provider and not for profit association, managing over 7,000 homes across Surrey and Sussex.
The group has a range of commercial business activities and their next exciting venture is to be an installer of renewable technologies on domestic and commercial properties.
As a result of this, they are currently seeking to hire a Business Development Manager to help grow new business streams and expand into new markets.
As Business Development Manager, you will be instrumental in establishing and growing new business streams within the Group - focusing on the installation and servicing of renewable energy products, such as heat pumps and EV installations, solar PV projects and schemes which better insulate homes.
You'll be expected to grow the turnover rapidly, in order to 'gift-back' profit to support the wider social housing and community development activities in-house. That will mean, you'll be growing the brand and positioning the company as an important strategic partner. It also means you'll have the support and backing of a major organisation, with a turnover of over £60m and assets values at around £500m.
This role would be working alongside their own installation teams who will be MCS and Trustmark accredited.
To make the most of this opportunity, you should have both prior delivery experience in and a strong understanding of the renewable energy market - including the main operators and technologies (heat pumps and solar energy in particular) and how Government policy is applied to large property portfolio holders. In-depth knowledge of the various funding regimes is also vital.
A proactive yet pragmatic manager, your track record in marketing, sales and business development will have proven your ability to deliver. You'll be experienced in managing quotations, tenders, contracts and project management.
You should also share the company's values: earning trust by being open and accountable, listening with an open mind, working collaboratively and caring about making things better.
