Job Description
I’m representing a specialty contractor that focuses on masonry and waterproofing projects across Texas — including Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, and Austin. They’ve built a reputation for high-quality craftsmanship, strong client relationships, and delivering on complex commercial projects across multiple markets.
The company is a tight-knit, growing team of about 30 employees, backed by private investors and driven by steady growth. They’re now seeking a Vice President of Operations to take ownership of operational performance, team development, and long-term business growth.
This is a hands-on executive role — perfect for someone who enjoys staying connected to field operations while also driving company-wide process improvement, budgeting, and profitability goals. The leadership team is looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants to make a lasting impact as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all operational functions, including project management, field operations, scheduling, and logistics.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and cost controls to ensure project profitability.
- Serve as a key liaison between ownership, project teams, and clients to maintain alignment and accountability.
- Mentor and develop field and office staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, safety, and performance excellence.
- Implement operational strategies, standard operating procedures, and technology to support growth and efficiency.
- Support business development efforts by evaluating project opportunities and maintaining relationships with key partners and GCs.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in commercial construction or specialty trades (masonry, concrete, waterproofing, façade restoration, etc.)
- Proven leadership experience overseeing teams, budgets, and multiple active job sites
- Spanish-speaking required (non-negotiable) — must be able to communicate effectively with field teams and subcontractors
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance operations, financial performance, and client relationships
- Local to Austin, TX or open to relocation
- Entrepreneurial mindset — someone who can help shape the company’s future as it grows
What’s in it for you
- Opportunity to join a growing company with strong investor backing and a clear long-term growth plan
- Executive seat at the table with influence over operations and strategy
- Collaborative, people-first culture that values transparency and accountability
- Competitive compensation package: $100K–$110K base + performance bonus
- Stable pipeline of projects and a leadership team committed to reinvesting in the business and its people
