A well-established Metairie law firm is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our growing team in a hybrid capacity. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, detail-oriented professional with a minimum of 5+ years of experience handling consumer bankruptcy matters (Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 ). The right person will be capable of independently managing files from intake through discharge while working closely with attorneys and clients throughout the process.
This position offers flexibility to work remotely, with occasional in-office collaboration as needed. It’s an excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal seeking work-life balance while continuing to work on challenging and meaningful cases.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related pleadings in accordance with federal and local court rules.
- Maintain case files and manage deadlines for multiple active bankruptcy matters.
- Communicate with clients, trustees, courts, and opposing counsel in a professional and courteous manner.
- Draft correspondence, notices, and other documents as needed.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and client meetings.
- Conduct research and gather financial information necessary for case preparation.

Ensure compliance with applicable bankruptcy laws and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a bankruptcy paralegal (Chapter 7 and Chapter 13).
- Strong working knowledge of CM/ECF filing systems and local bankruptcy court procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage remote communication effectively.
