BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the Home Finance group covering Residential Owner-Occupied, Investment and Home Equity Lending. Scope of loan authority is limited to the discretion of the VP & Director of Home Finance and oversight of the groups Team Leaders, Processing and Sales group.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures all loan applications are processed, underwritten, and closed in compliance with regulatory and Bank policies.
- Monitors production pipeline with Team Leaders (Underwriting & Closing) & other group staff on an on-going basis for quality, accuracy, and consistent turnaround time.
- Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry and internal bank requirements.
- Interacts and troubleshoots processing, underwriting, pre-closing, closing, and post-closing audit issues/problems with group staff, borrowers, AMC, and attorneys in order to expedite loan approvals and closings.
- Assists in the evaluation and enhancement of the performance and development of group personnel.
- Makes recommendations to Vice President regarding ongoing training and continued education of staff.
- Collaborates with VP, Mortgage Originations in researching, developing, and preparing the group’s annual operating budget and cost saving measures.
- Oversee and manage with other groups the HMDA/LAR process. Ensures that all loan files are updated with the proper data for monthly LAR tracking and year-end HMDA reporting using of Questsoft software.
- Administrates all utilized technology applications for the group, i.e., Mortgagebot/Finastra LOS & POS, Laser Pro, and any other embedded solutions administrative requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Management as related to the Bank, lending and other Bank functions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
College Degree or equivalent related business experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years residential lending originations (Owner-Occupied, Investment & Home Equity) in a retail and/or wholesale banking or Mortgage Banking environment.
Knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC and other secondary lending guidelines.
Working knowledge of secondary market (agency and investors) procedures/operations for residential lending.
Thorough knowledge of compliance regulations and their applicability; including but not limited to Dodd-Frank and TRID.
LOS technical and compliance knowledge is required. Mortgagebot/Finastra POS & LOS & Questsoft a plus.
Proficiency with various software programs including word processing and spreadsheet applications required.
Excellent verbal, organizational, inter-personal and written communication skills.
