Assistant Purchasing Agent - Construction
Job DescriptionJob Description
Support for Purchasing Agent as they work closely with our Project Management and warehouse teams to procure necessary materials, equipment and services for our busy commercial Mechanical Contracting company.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, process and verify purchase orders following established guidelines to purchase materials and goods by required dates
- Input transactions into a purchasing system database
- Interacts with suppliers/vendors verifying product specifications and monitoring availability
- Collate and match invoices to packing slips
- Review invoices for accuracy, including quantities, multipliers, pricing, etc. and distribute for approval
- Work with vendors to resolve any errors in invoicing, backorders, credits, etc.
- Assist with managing stock and inventory levels using specific software to assist in data management of purchase orders, inventory, etc.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently
- Maintain vendor/project files in purchasing department
Requirements
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- MS Office suite
- High School Diploma
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience in commercial construction purchasing/supply
