**General Summary:**
Qualcomm's XR System Architecture Team is seeking a power and performance analysis engineer to work on advancing next- Snapdragon SoC technologies and architectures, enabling future Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality applications.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Understanding various power domains and voltage rails of the Snapdragon SoC, including interdependencies among power architecture elements. Capturing and analyzing system performance through power waveforms, compute performance metrics (utilization, MIPS/cycles), and bandwidth (memory/cache traffic).
Characterizing XR algorithm performance by quantifying software and hardware workloads, as well as overall system performance through on-silicon execution. Gathering and analyzing empirical data such as power consumption, compute workload, and memory traffic to identify factors impacting optimal SoC performance.
Managing the power analysis lab setup, including hardware and software tools like prototype power boards, waveform measurement equipment, and analysis software. Developing automation scripts for test scenario execution and data analysis.
Utilizing system-level use case modeling to validate power and performance KPIs.
This multidisciplinary role requires knowledge of SoC blocks and characterization of power, performance, and thermal aspects of chipset architecture relevant to AR/VR algorithms and applications. areas of expertise include:
AR/VR, camera and display technologies, GPUs, NPU, CPU, and hardware accelerators.
Computer vision, machine learning, perception algorithms.
** Qualifications:**
Master’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
4+ years’ experience in power analysis and SoC architecture, focusing on the areas listed above.
Experience with power/performance analysis, architectural trade-offs, and SW-HW trade-offs.
Knowledge of graphics pipelines, computer vision pipelines, machine learning methods, and camera pipelines.
Familiarity with AR/VR technologies and CV/ML algorithms such as 6DoF.
Experience with system-level modeling, on-silicon analysis, profiling (performance and power).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Python.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR
Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, with 1+ year of relevant experience, OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
