Our Role
Due to continued growth, we are recruiting Quality and Safety Inspectors, to join our team supporting operations across West London, Surrey, Middlesex, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Thames Valley Regions. This unique role offers an opportunity to play a pivotal position within the Tree Cutting Organisation ensuring the success of the annual tree cutting program. As a Quality and Safety Inspector (QSI) you'll be responsible for overseeing the performance and adherence to safety processes of all tree cutting contractors working for SSEN. This role is unique in its function, as it covers all aspects of a challenging yet rewarding working environment, this includes daily face to face interaction with internal and contract resource, site visits, onsite safety and quality auditing as well as recording and reporting on performance and safety information.
You will monitor and assess contractors' performance against key performance indicators, identifying trends in performance. You'll ensure site quality and safety as part of the Tree Cutting community developing strategies to ensure contractor performance and safety is continually improved and consistently monitored. This position is primarily a remote working role which will requires an above average amount of travelling within your allocated geographic area.
Your Regional base location depending on the area you would manage would be the following: West London, Slough, Basingstoke, Theale or Oxford Depots.
Your Experience
An understanding of the Arboriculturally industry is essential with experience within the Utility Arb sector being advantageous, as would previous experience of the Low Voltage and or High voltage networks, UA5 and other NPTC qualifications would be an advantage but not essential as progressive training is available for the right candidates.
You'll have previous experience of monitoring and recording third party contractor performance. Excellent communication skills are essential, your role will require you to build credible and professional relationships with contractors and external stakeholders as well as your direct team ensuring successful completion of projects to agreed deadlines.
Good planning and organisational skills are essential for this role to enable you to plan and deliver the team programme, on time and within budget. Safety is our key priority; you'll have the ability to risk assess activities throughout your working day and promote our safe working culture across the team. Previous experience of supervising teams of both direct staff or contractors is essential. Good computer skills are required.
Due to the travel element of this role, a full UK driving license is required.
