The Nuclear Scientist/Physicist will be an integral member of an Engineering team to develop products for the nuclear power product line. The team's primary goal is to develop detailed mechanical component and system designs to meet new and existing product specifications for new and existing Nuclear Power Plant designs.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide Engineering support for all existing Reuter-Stokes' radiation detectors.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring of newer Nuclear Engineers and Physicists.
  • Participate in developing the technical strategy of the business.
  • Generate innovative ideas for new products or product enhancements for radiation detection systems.
  • Set-up and conduct experiments/tests using radiological sources for the purpose of evaluating performance.
  • Coordinate multiple project tasks with the product engineering team and work directly with the respective Product Line, Quality and Supply Chain Teams to ensure continued growth of the product line.

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Nuclear Applications

Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering or Physics with an emphasis on radiation detection.
  • 3 years of experience in designing products for harsh environments (nuclear environment).
  • Familiarity with SAP business system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Must be results oriented self-starter with track record of delivering results.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide work with internal and external customers especially regarding product design specifications.
