Role Summary:

The Field Fluids Specialist will be responsible for the performance of the drilling fluid and / or completion, provides technical and operational support in reference to the liquid and solid products used in the preparation of the drilling fluid (water or oil-based mud) based on the operational guidelines of the client.

  • Administrative control of the inventory assigned to its work front.
  • Verify and ensure the optimum level of inventory for the effective provision of the service in the field.
  • Responsible for laboratory equipment, inventory and maintenance.
  • Generation of daily operational and final well reports, completion of consumption formats to generate the billing process.
  • Manage the acquisition of data and the interpretation of them through software assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Control Operating and Administrative Costs.
  • Ensure security on all operational and administrative fronts of HSE.
  • Control inventories of Product and / or machinery and equipment for operations. (When applicable)
  • Attend meetings with interested parties that the position requires.
  • Coordinate necessary logistics for the operation in the field or where the work is being carried out.
  • Ensure, control the good condition of the client's property when it is being used for the provision of the service (includes informing and registering the event to the client of some detriment of the same).
  • Control the staff (If Apply).
  • Verify the operation according to guidelines delegated or established by the organization.
  • Ensure and safeguard the assets that are being used for the provision of the service both operational and support.
  • Identify training needs, awareness and competence for the staff under their charge and ensure that all personnel receive necessary training in HSE and the respective operational controls (Management positions).
  • Ensure the availability of resources to establish, implement, maintain and improve the HSE management system (Management positions).
  • Ensure that the HSE management system is developed, implemented and maintained in accordance with corporate guidelines and relevant legislation (Management positions).
  • Establish and guarantee the fulfillment of the objectives and goals established in the HSE management system. (management positions)
  • Make visits and inspections to work places. (management positions)
  • Participate in the managerial reviews of the management system together with the coordinators and recommend strategies to guarantee the continuous improvement of the system (managerial positions)
  • Participate in the identification of the dangers and impacts related to the position, evaluation and establishment of risk controls in safety, health and environment related to the position.
  • Perform risk analysis.
  • Comply with legal requirements and the clients identified by the organization.
  • Apply and comply with the HSE Policy.
  • Support and participate in the achievement of objectives and goals of the HSE management system.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the HSE management system.
  • Participate in the different meetings, activities and training developed for the HSE system, where it is mentioned
  • Attend and complete the training that is assigned to their work.
  • Communicate to your supervisor any risk and / or unsafe condition in your workplace.
  • Apply and comply, programs and methodologies implemented in the HSE management system.
  • Follow and fulfill the procedures and work instructions established for the operations under its control.
  • Participate in the programs (observation cards, PVE, etc.) that are developed within the HSE management system.
  • Stop work if required by the STOP WORK program if an HSE risk is identified
  • Use and care for personal protective equipment.
  • Practice the periodic examinations determined by the organization in the periods and dates established.
  • Fulfill the requirements if you are elected as a Brigadier (attendance at meetings, training, simulations).
  • Comply with the internal audit schedules where the auditor or auditee is.
  • Report any incident and accident as soon as possible without undue delay.
  • Report unsafe acts and conditions
  • Participate in the investigation of accidents.
  • Implement the corrective and / or preventive actions necessary to close non-conformities.
  • All those activities related to the HSE management system that are assigned by the immediate supervisor
  • Establish and maintain safe work practices and procedures within all areas of your responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and customer requirements related to HSE
  • Lead the investigation of accidents where their work environment is involved
  • Ensure that the necessary corrective and preventive actions are implemented as a result of audits and inspections or HSE audit findings


  • Technical formation or bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in related roles.
