Support designing High Tech manufacturing facilities across the globe and have a hand in transforming tomorrow.

As a Life Safety Specialist on the Advanced Facilities team, you will have the chance to work on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data center facilities, and other state of the art manufacturing facilities. Working with other members of our team, you'll deliver world class designs for industry leading clients around the world.

Life Safety specialists design Fire Alarm, Early Warning Smoke Detection, Hazardous Gas Detection systems. They work with our Architectural team to evaluate building occupancy codes and applying the requirements of NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm and Signaling code as well as local AHJ requirements to ensure complete system compliance. Responsibilities also include coordinating with our Mechanical team to provide the proper type of detection and interface for air handling units, high air flow environments and smoke exhaust systems.

Life Safety specialists evaluate proper detection systems, provide design drawings, calculations, and device layouts. They are responsible for the design of Fire and Hazardous Gas detection systems including addressable and non-addressable systems. LSS staff coordinate with and direct production resources for creation of 2D and 3D deliverables.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Minimum 5 years in LSS system design
  • Proven leadership skills leading projects and teams.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72, IFC and IBC codes
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge and application of Article 500, Hazardous (Classified) Locations, in the current version of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Ability to create accurate electrical installation documents from the information found on vendor equipment drawings
  • Able to develop electrical installation specifications with engineering review and approval
  • Knowledge and understanding of work flow/information flow between disciplines Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all electrical deliverables
  • Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks
  • Able to develop a construction cost estimate, a detailed engineering schedule and a effort hour budget for a small project or an area for a larger project
  • Able to determine construction material quantities

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • NICET level II
  • Associates degree or higher
  • 5-10 years' experience in design of Life Safety Systems for semiconductor facilities, Data Centers and support buildings including H Occupancy.
