Responsible for assisting in the development, update, direction and implementation of health, safety and environmental programs; policies and procedures to reduce accidental losses and protect company assets; ensure vendor, contractor and customer safety; and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Act as a resource and subject matter expert in matters relating to health, safety and environmental concerns for locations as determined by the Regional HSE Manager.


  1. Ensure overall compliance with regulatory agencies, corporate and business group guidelines, policies and procedures.
  2. Assist in the preparation of the HSE budget and other administrative functions to ensure efficient operation
  3. Ensure those facilities without dedicated HSE personnel are operating in compliance with NOV, regulatory and business group guidelines.
  4. Manage HSE Coordinator(s)
  5. Partner with site HSE Coordinator to review site-specific practices and procedures.
  6. Provide technical support for facility and facility HSE Coordinator and serve as their liaison with ISE HSE group.
  7. Conduct routine area reviews to assist Management Teams with plan implementation and overall compliance issues.
  8. Conduct HSE Management System audits.
  9. Plan and coordinate HSE objectives for continuous improvement
  10. Provide assistance with formal incident investigations and assessment of risk. Recommend changes to procedures and suggest training to prevent future occurrences when required. Ensure actions are tracked to closure.
  11. Provide recommendations to Location Management for appropriate alterations or additions in facility, procedures and/or equipment to improve or remove hazards or environmental exposure.
  12. Review and analyze monthly HSE statistics and trends to determine a root cause and implement corrective actions.
  13. Ensure that all HSE departmental personnel are trained to perform their jobs effectively.
  14. Conduct train-the-trainer modules (or specialized HSE training) as required.
  15. Coordinate Industrial Hygiene surveys with Corporate HSE Team and work with facilities to close out any findings.
  16. Share and implement ISE and NOV Best Management Practices, as applicable.
  17. Ensure permits and certifications are maintained and kept up to date. This includes any databases that are internal or external to the organization.
  18. Ensure that waste is properly classified, handled, and stored according to federal, state, local, or NOV requirements.
  19. Travel to group facilities and customer locations as required to successfully perform responsibilities.
  20. Other duties as assigned.



List the minimum requirements for this position:
  • Self-starter, able to manage multiple tasks with very limited supervision
  • Minimum 7 years experience in a related field
  • Leadership/Management experience
  • Thorough working knowledge of global health, safety and environmental regulations and practices
  • Excellent planning, organization, communication and writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to clearly communicate to all levels
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups
