SENIOR LEGAL ADVISOR

Use your legal expertise to lead complex and long-term negotiations
Are you an international-oriented lawyer with experience in wind energy transactions? Are you interested in handling long-term, complex negotiations of large-scale offshore wind energy projects?

We are looking for a new Senior Legal Advisor to join our Legal & Risk department working from our office in Hamburg. You will work in a highly-skilled team along with various departments across the organisation.

MHI Vestas wants to do better every day
With +2500 employees in seven different countries, we are one of the leading players in the offshore wind industry. Even if we find ourselves in many different locations one thing remains the same: We prioritise the team spirit and we value the close connection between our employees. We focus on financially viable and sustainable solutions that benefit future generations. Established in 2014, we are a young, diverse and ambitious organisation with an informal and dynamic environment.

Tasks & responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will be to:
  • Negotiate German and international wind turbine transactions for the sale and service of offshore wind turbines - hereunder draft and negotiate turbine supply agreements and service and availability agreements
  • Respond to tenders from our customers, advise the organisation during the tender phase and negotiate pre-engineering agreements and term sheets
  • Provide contractual and legal training to various departments of the organisation
  • Provide general legal advice

You will work closely together with other departments in MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, including Sales, Construction, Service and Technology. The transaction negotiations will take place in various countries and thus you must expect between 40-50 travelling days per year, depending on the projects you are working on.

Skills & experience
As a person, you are highly structured and cooperative with a high-stress tolerance. You have very good negotiation and communication skills and can maintain your motivation during the long-term process involved in negotiating large and complex offshore wind power projects. It is an advantage, but not a pre-requisite, if you are experienced in working with wind turbine supply agreements and service and availability agreements.

In addition, you have:
  • a solid legal educational background and excellent legal skills
  • worked in a legal department of a large corporation and/or in a law firm for minimum 5 years and preferably longer
  • the ability to prioritise and focus on both quality and meeting deadlines
  • a strong commercial mindset and are interested in learning further about commercial and technical issues
  • a result orientated and persistent approach

Join us if you...
...want to work in an international and ambitious company where we work shoulder to shoulder every day to become the global leader in the offshore wind market. You will be part of a dedicated team in an organisation characterised by being ambitious, innovative and professional.
