We are a leading provider of professional services in the nuclear sector in the UK. Our services cover the entire lifecycle from front end advice, thorough development of documentation in support of investment, engineering development, project management and into construction and commissioning management of existing and new nuclear power plants.

Our international Missions Solutions business provides design, project, programme and construction management services for a wide range of clients in defence infrastructure, nuclear facilities, advanced manufacturing and research laboratories. In addition, we provide consultancy services in cyber security and connected networks.

1. Accountable for producing estimates in accordance with the estimating processes

2. Accountable for producing project-specific Basis of Estimate documentation in accordance with the estimating processes and the production and maintenance of associated policies, procedures and guidelines

3. Accountable for developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders

4. Accountable for assuring the quality of Estimating deliverables

5. Accountable for continuously improving daily ways of working within own area of responsibility

6. Responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the estimating benchmarking database

7. Responsible for recommending changes to the estimating norms and ranges

8. Responsible for the production of estimating deliverables in accordance with the appropriate procedures and guidelines

9. Responsible for producing project-specific Basis of Estimate documentation in accordance with the estimating processes and the production and maintenance of associated policies, procedures and guidelines

10. Responsible for supporting the development and continuous improvement of the end-to-end estimating processes and the production and maintenance of associated policies, procedures and guidelines

11. Responsible for personal workload and ensuring all deadlines are met

12. Responsible for undertaking other duties as reasonably required from time to time by line and task management

13. Responsible for maintaining and promoting high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality

1. A level standard of education or equivalent

2. Degree or HND/HNC educated in appropriate business or technical discipline preferable

3. Project Management qualification (e.g. APMP) preferable

Membership of relevant professional body, or working towards membership, (e.g. RICS, ACostE, APM, PMI) preferable

1. Knowledge and experience of using best practice estimating processes and tools in a complex, project environment

2. Knowledge and understanding of forms of contract, e.g. NEC3

3. Knowledge and understanding of confidence modelling processes and techniques

4. Experience of developing and maintaining effective relationships

5. Knowledge and understanding of Earned Value Management processes and procedures preferable

6. Experience of using an estimating norms and ranges database preferable

7. Competent in:

a. Independent Assurance - The ability to undertake an independent assessment of the evidence file supporting an investment, and to make appropriate recommendations

b. Confidence Modelling - The ability to use statistical modelling techniques to provide confidence in business plans and processes

c. Performance Analysis - The ability to analyse different types of performance data and provide insight and recommendation on performance, e.g. earned value, performance forecasting

d. Project Planning - The ability to create and maintain a project plan in order to manage a project throughout its lifecycle

e. Project Cost Engineering - The ability to utilise cost engineering techniques to manage and control project costs throughout its lifecycle

f. Project Estimating - The ability to create a project estimate, based on scope, technical specification and sources of cost information

g. Requirements Management - The ability to capture requirements and assumptions with associated acceptance criteria

Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management - The ability to objectively identify and analyse the impact of risks and opportunities to the organisation. This includes qualitative and quantitative assessment
