We are a leading provider of professional services in the nuclear sector in the UK. Our services cover the entire lifecycle from front end advice, thorough development of documentation in support of investment, engineering development, project management and into construction and commissioning management of existing and new nuclear power plants.

Our international Missions Solutions business provides design, project, programme and construction management services for a wide range of clients in defence infrastructure, nuclear facilities, advanced manufacturing and research laboratories. In addition, we provide consultancy services in cyber security and connected networks.

Accountable for the timely delivery of Engineering Design packages for Facility Projects as part of a cross functional Project Team
The Engineering Manager assumes overall responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the Design deliverables throughout the Project life cycle (typically from initial brief through to final Design Review and technical support during the implementation phase and handover to end-users)
The Engineering Manager is accountable for the management of resources to deliver the Design packages and this is through 3 rd party suppliers or in-house design resource
The role is responsible for the preparation and control of cost estimates and programmes for the delivery of Engineering Design packages
The Engineering Manager acts as the lead technical resource on Projects. A significant aspect of the role is to work with user groups and other stakeholders to ensure that:
o Project requirements are clear, concise and achievable.
o The proposed solution is acceptable to the user and meets the user requirements
o Design intent is maintained throughout the project.
o The solution is safe to operate and maintain, meeting the safety and environmental assurance objectives
o The solution is cost effective
The Engineering Manager is accountable for ensuring that the appropriate level of governance and review has been applied to the design and that it meets National and AWE Engineering Standards
The Engineering Manager is expected to maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality
