The Role

Tesla is looking for an experienced supervisor to lead Logistics activities and manage a team. The Logistics Supervisor will manage requirements to support Finished Vehicle Distribution. In addition to logistics execution, the Logistics Supervisor will be expected to manage facilities and carrier responsibilities. The candidate must have a proven track record of successfully working cross-functionally with multiple departments related to manufacturing and logistics planning. The candidate must not only be operationally excellent but also a strong people leader.

Responsibilities

Program manage Logistics execution supporting Finished Vehicles. This includes:
  • Define strategies and work flows
  • Identify existing systematic gaps and drive process to close. This includes facilities and safety concerns.
  • Define and develop Finished Vehicle logistics solutions that optimize speed, cost, quality, and communication
  • Build on and improve existing Vehicle quality initiatives

Identify ongoing operational process and staffing needs to support logistics operations.

Identify and hire a high performing team to lead operations and create a culture of excellence.

Manage Finished Vehicle Logistics Operations.
  • Work with Internal Customers to optimize and meet requirements (Such as, Sales, Delivery, Fleet, Marketing, Engineering)

Implement internal reporting and customized department metrics

Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes

Requirements
  • Minimum 2-4 years' experience in operations and / or related functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or relevant experience and/or evidence of exceptional ability
  • Creative approach of thinking outside the box

  • A passionate and high-energy leader who can positively influence others
  • Exhibits leadership in complex problem-solving, cross-functional relationships, and in driving results

  • Extensive knowledge of operations management including previous experience working with complex problems, production and logistics and a thorough understanding of best practices.
  • Experience with MS Office Applications, including knowledge of Excel, and PowerPoint.
