The Role

The primary function of Used Vehicle Specialist will be to work cross functionally with Remarketing Manager, Service, Delivery and Sales teams to ensure timely completion of the refurbishment process and logistic moves for vehicles in Tesla's Used Vehicle program. The Used Vehicle Specialist will be responsible for managing the conditional quality of the refurbishment process from service, frequent inventory overview to Used Vehicle sales, logistics moves and estimated time for completion of any vehicle going through the Used Vehicle certification process and/or transportation. As a newly created position, the UVS will have the opportunity to develop and define the processes that make the position successful while playing an integral role in the growth of the Tesla Used Vehicle program.


• Coordinate cosmetic inspections and repairs for all pre-owned vehicles assigned to your location

• Work Closely with the inside service writer to ensure timely completion of rectification for all pre-owned vehicles

• Manage relationships with 3 rd party vendors to ensure timely and high quality repairs are completed for pre-owned vehicles

• Work closely with sales and delivery teams to ensure proper expectations are set for certification completion and updates are communicated in a timely manner.

• Schedule and coordinate logistics moves for used vehicles to their delivery destination

• Oversee efforts to drive down total cost of refurbishment for certified pre-owned vehicles.

• Quick and intelligent decision making behind complex situations dealing with trades with the betterment of the overall business in mind

• Developing new innovative ideas around process efficiencies and cash conversion

• Successful execution of developed ideas and accountability for performance of initiatives


• Bachelor's Degree preferred. In lieu of a degree, relevant experience

• Experience working with all variations of cosmetic damage on vehicles

• Strong knowledge of Tesla's vehicle line-up, including manufacturing processes, historical option data and repair costs

• Preferred logistics/transportation dispatch experience

• Proven ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Superior attention to detail under tight deadlines and comfortable in a fast paced working environment

• Willingness to work on a flexible schedule, according to activity volume

• Ability to work across multiple computer systems; experience with a plus, experience with MS Office required

• Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must
