The Role:

As a Project Superintendent responsible for Site and Civil Construction, you will be playing a critical role in building the world's largest factory. You will work primarily in the field managing the site civil self-performed work and will be asked to work cross-functionally, interfacing with other trades, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering while tracking a project's schedule and budget.

  • Manage a team of field and craft personnel to perform fast paced, high quality, design-build Civil and Site infrastructure installations while controlling and clearly communicating cost and schedule.
  • Plan and Lead site grading and underground utility installation by self-performed team.
  • Plan and Lead SWPPP installation and maintenance by self-performed team.
  • Enforce and maintain high standards for safety, quality, and productivity on self-perform crews.
  • Develop, communicate, and improve upon logistics, schedules and other operational plans.
  • Interface with BIM Coordination team to provide detailed field use information, ensure work is installed per plan, and BIM model reflects all asbuilt details.
  • Direct work in field, track changes, solve for issues before they delay work.
  • Work with user groups as needed to facilitate successful project completion.
  • Develop and maintain P6 schedules and other tools for communicating work plan, flow and progress to crews, other trades, project teams and management.
  • Work with in house engineers and designers to develop budgets for materials, labor and equipment.

  • Degree or evidence of exceptional experience in the field of civil engineering or construction management.
  • At least 12 years' experience on large commercial or industrial projects running earthmoving, utilities, structural excavation and trenching scopes.
  • Plan safety into every schedule and plan of work. Through understanding of trenching, excavation, shoring and confined spaces safety is a must.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to select and manage heavy equipment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and translate the following documents for field use :
    • Civil and Utility plans and specifications.
    • Grading and SWPPP drawings.
    • Shop drawings, fabrication drawings and installation drawings .
    • Soil classification and Geotechnical reports

  • Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals.
  • Experience managing self-perform teams.
  • Thorough understanding of Trenching and Excavation safety, shoring and trench boxes, use of survey and elevation equipment, rigging and signaling, heavy equipment selection, confined spaces.
  • Plan safety into every schedule.
