The Role

As a Tool Installation Technician you will play a critical role in the utility install, space preparation, install and bring up of Tesla manufacturing equipment. This role requires hands-on work, flexibility, and extensive communication skills to meet the daily requirements.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will vary depending on the specific technician role and could include any of the following:
  • Build custom equipment and tooling to support Tesla Tool Install initiatives
  • Installation of Automated lines
  • Building custom automation equipment from mechanical/electrical drawings
  • Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives

Requirements
  • Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Skilled at troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Skilled with the use of a variety of hand and portable tools, as well as general machining and welding
  • Basic and complex fabrication skills
  • Skilled with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel. PowerPoint etc. )
  • Have a quick and flexible approach to problem-solving, task juggling, and collaboration
  • Ability to manage workload while contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment
  • Comfortable promptly and clearly raising questions and problems verbally and via email to engineers during the assembly of equipment.
  • Willing to perform shift and overtime as required
  • 2+ years relevant experience.
